Children’s Gi/No Gi Jiu-Jitsu
Children as young as 3 may participate, based on their ability to attend to instruction.

Youth Open Mat
Mixed-level, Gi or No Gi. Children may spar as long as they would like. Arrangements with other teammates should be made to ensure there is an adequate training partner for your child — for example, in size and experience.

How young can my child start?
Children’s classes are for ages 5–9, and children as young as 3 may participate based on their ability to attend to instruction. Youth classes are for ages 9 and up.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. The first week is free for youth and children’s classes, and it includes a free gi rental.
Which days are Gi and which are No Gi?
For both children’s and youth classes, Mondays and Saturdays are Gi and Wednesdays are No Gi. Tuesday’s advanced class and Thursday’s competition class alternate Gi and No Gi, and Saturday afternoon is Judo. Check the schedule for this week’s class times.
What happens in a class?
Classes are mixed-level and co-ed, and teach self-defense and sport jiu-jitsu techniques. A typical hour includes warm-ups and drills, detail-oriented technique, and technique-based games and/or sparring.
Can my child spar?
Yes. Classes may include sparring, and at youth open mat (ages 5 and up) children may spar as long as they would like. Make arrangements with other teammates so your child has an adequate training partner in size and experience.
Is there a family discount?
Yes. ʻOhana — two or more immediate family members — get 15% off, and so do children whose parent or guardian is on active military duty.
What does a membership include?
Monthly memberships and punch cards include free open mat. Drop-ins are $30 per class, 4 classes a month is $85, unlimited is $130 a month, and a 10-class punch card is $200, valid for 6 months.
